**Eagles Soar to Victory with 34-20 Thrashing of the Washington Commanders**
In a dominating display of skill and determination, the Philadelphia Eagles emerged victorious over their division rivals, the Washington Commanders, with a commanding 34-20 win on Sunday afternoon. The Birds’ offense, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, exploded for 422 total yards, with 215 of those coming on the ground from the star signal-caller.
Hurts was nearly unstoppable, rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for another, as the Eagles took control of the game in the second quarter. The Commanders’ defense struggled to contain the Eagles’ high-powered attack, allowing the Birds to score on five of their seven possessions in the first half.
On the other side of the ball, the Eagles’ defense proved to be equally formidable, holding the Commanders to just 12 points in the second half. Defensive end Brandon Graham was a force to be reckoned with, recording two sacks and forcing a fumble that was recovered by linebacker T.J. Edwards.
The win marks the Eagles’ second straight victory and improves their record to 5-3 on the season. With the divisional lead in their sights, the Eagles will look to build on this momentum heading into their next matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
“We’re feeling good about where we’re at right now,” said Hurts in the post-game press conference. “We know we still have a lot of work to do, but we’re excited about the direction this team is heading.”
The Eagles will take on the Colts next Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field, with kickoff scheduled for 1pm ET. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN.
