Bruno Damiani reflected on a season that has turned from rocky to record‑setting for the Philadelphia Union. After a shaky start that saw head coach Bradley Carnell dismissed, the club has gone unbeaten in 14 straight MLS regular‑season games, positioning itself firmly in the playoff race. Damiani, who has tallied 11 goals and two assists in 29 appearances this year, credits the club’s focus on young talent—Cavan Sullivan, Milan Iloski, Frankie Westfield, and Neil Pierre—for the turnaround.

“The intensity of training and the amount of work we do have really impressed me,” Damiani said. “It’s challenged me and helped me grow as a player.” He added that his main goal is consistency, scoring, and continuous development, noting that extra training sessions outside the regular program have been key to his improvement.

Damiani chose the Union because of its developmental philosophy. “Philadelphia’s approach is built around hard work and professionalism,” he explained. “They recruit players with specific profiles that fit the team’s system.” He praised the club’s willingness to give young players minutes, noting that even the bench is filled with developing talent.

Language and life in the United States have also eased Damiani’s transition. Speaking English from the start allowed him to bond quickly with teammates and coaches. He is currently studying Business Administration and Management remotely while playing.

Looking ahead, Damiani remains focused on sustaining the Union’s momentum and hopes to keep contributing as the team pushes toward the postseason.
